Safe, Clean & Stress-Controlled Relocation for Your Aquarium Setup

Moving an aquarium is a specialist-planning job, not a standard furniture move. Before booking, the written quote should identify the tank, cabinet or stand, access constraints, packing method, placement point and every task accepted by Move Move.

Livestock, water, filtration, plumbing, electrical work and recommissioning are separate responsibilities unless the written quote expressly includes them.

Fish tank moving quote

What Does a Fish Tank Moving Quote Need to Cover?

It should define the empty physical load, both access routes, the destination and every separate responsibility. Match those details to the actual job before confirming a date: a tank-only move is different from an aquarium travelling within a home move, an internal reposition or a delivery to storage or a business site.

Tank only

What can be included in a fish tank move?

Start with the empty aquarium, stand and specifically listed equipment. Use the special-item moving service as the quotation starting point when this setup is the main physical load.

Home move

Can the aquarium move with a household relocation?

Plan the empty setup inside the same moving schedule. Link its access and handover to the house-moving service so the room and lift sequence are assessed together.

Same property

What about moving the tank within one property?

Treat it as a complete internal carry route, not a simple room change. Review doors, turns, floors and lift access with the same-building moving guide.

Next destination

What if the tank is going to storage or a business?

Name the final destination before quotation. Confirm whether the empty setup is entering storage or a site covered by commercial moving.

Safe, Clean & Stress-Controlled Relocation for Your Aquarium Setup

Aquarium moves can involve lift bookings, narrow access, water-spill controls, heavy or fragile glass, heat exposure and a short safe handling window.

Send clear photos, dimensions and access details before quotation. If livestock or a complex life-support system is involved, arrange a suitable aquarium specialist and record who is responsible for each step.

What We Move

The written quote can identify which physical items are accepted for transport, for example:

  • The empty aquarium and removable lids
  • The cabinet or stand
  • An empty sump and disconnected accessories
  • Separately packed equipment or sealed containers that are specifically listed

Acceptance depends on dimensions, condition, weight, access and the agreed scope. Send photos of the complete setup for assessment.

How Should You Plan a Fish Tank Carry Route?

Measure the complete setup and trace the route at both addresses before moving day. For HDB, condominium and commercial properties, photograph narrow turns and stairs, confirm lift dimensions and bookings, and show the final placement point. The quotation can then address the tank, cabinet, sump and accepted accessories without relying on assumptions at the door.

01

Which dimensions should you send?

Record each physical part separately: tank, stand or cabinet and removable components, including material and visible condition.

02

Which access details matter?

Show the full pickup and delivery path: doors, corridor turns, lift size, stairs, loading distance and property booking requirements.

03

Who handles livestock and the living system?

Name that responsibility before crew timing is fixed. Confirm who handles livestock, water, filter media, temporary holding and restart.

04

What must be ready at the destination?

Identify the support and working space. List placement or separately arranged technical work in the written scope.

Our Aquarium Moving Process (Professional Workflow)

1) Pre-Move Assessment

We check tank size, glass type, cabinet condition, access route (lift/corridor/turning), and how to minimise risk.

2) Controlled Draining & Packing

Draining and packing are included only when stated in the written quote. Livestock catching, bagging, oxygen, temperature control and temporary holding remain the customer’s or aquarium specialist’s responsibility unless Move Move expressly accepts those tasks in writing.

The aquarium must never be transported with livestock, substrate or loose water inside it.

3) Secure Transport

The quote should state the protective packing and lifting plan for the empty tank, cabinet and accepted accessories. Original tank water is not carried inside the aquarium; sealed water containers are transported only if their quantity and handling are expressly accepted in writing.

4) Placement, Levelling & Leak Checks

The customer must confirm that the destination floor, stand and placement point are suitable. Placement, levelling or a visual leak check is performed only if listed in the quote and is not a warranty against old silicone, hidden chips, cracks, weakened supports or later leakage.

5) Re-Setup Support (By Request)

Filter media handling, equipment reconnection, water conditioning, cycling and restarting the aquarium remain the customer’s or aquarium specialist’s responsibility unless a written scope says otherwise.

Move Move does not provide plumbing, electrical, drilling, sealing, resealing or stand-modification work unless it is separately accepted and carried out by an appropriately qualified provider.

Common Risks We Help You Avoid

Record the aquarium’s condition before work starts, including existing chips, scratches, silicone condition, cabinet swelling and support concerns. The moving plan can reduce handling risk, but it cannot remove risks created by age, hidden defects, unsuitable support, water quality or livestock condition.

No mover can guarantee fish survival, preservation of the biological cycle, a particular water-quality result or that an older aquarium will never leak after relocation.

Put the Scope in Writing Before Moving Day

A reliable quotation is one that makes responsibility clear before moving day. Ask for every included item and task to be listed in writing, together with exclusions and any specialist work that you must arrange separately.

Quote to handover

Who Handles Each Part of an Aquarium Move?

The written scope should separate preparation, physical transport and destination work. It needs to identify what must be ready before lifting, what Move Move accepts for transport and who handles the living system after the empty aquarium reaches its destination.

Before lifting

What must be prepared first?

Confirm the agreed livestock, water, substrate and filtration plan. Then identify every empty physical item accepted for moving.

During transport

What should match the written quote?

The packing method, carry route and accepted load should match it. Check the empty tank and stand plus any listed disconnected accessory or sealed container.

At the destination

What happens after placement?

Confirm the agreed placement point and responsibility handover. Name who handles water conditioning, filtration, plumbing, electrical work and restarting the aquarium.

For a clearer assessment, send tank and cabinet dimensions, photos of the complete setup, pickup and destination access, the final placement point and the livestock plan in one message.

FAQ

Fish Tank Moving
in Singapore

These answers cover tank size, drainage, livestock safety, and handling during transport.

What exactly will the quotation cover?

It should list every accepted item and task, including the empty tank, cabinet or stand, accessories, packing, carrying route and final placement. Anything not listed should be treated as outside scope.

Not automatically. The customer or an aquarium specialist is responsible for catching, bagging, oxygen, temperature control and temporary holding unless Move Move expressly accepts a specific task in writing. Fish survival cannot be guaranteed.

Water is never carried inside the aquarium. Sealed containers may be considered only when the quantity, container type and handling are accepted in the written quote.

The customer or aquarium specialist does, unless the written scope expressly says otherwise. The move cannot guarantee preservation of the biological cycle or a particular water-quality result.

No, unless a separate written scope expressly accepts it and identifies an appropriately qualified provider. Drilling, sealing, resealing and stand modification are also outside the standard moving scope.

Existing silicone, hidden chips or cracks, cabinet deterioration and unsuitable supports should be documented before work. Placement or a visual check is not a guarantee that an older aquarium will never leak.

Ask for the current insured entity, policy type, limit, excess, exclusions and aquarium-specific applicability in the quote or policy. Public liability cover does not automatically mean the tank, livestock, water quality or all transit damage is covered.
