SINGAPORE CONDO MOVING RULES
The number of condominiums in Singapore has grown in recent years. This is due to the fact that more than 90% of the population lives in densely populated urban areas. As a result, Singapore has become an ideal place to work, live, and raise a family.
Singapore’s urban areas are densely packed with tall apartment buildings, cutting-edge office buildings, and condominiums, making the city a clean and modern place to live. So, whether you buy or rent one of these Singapore apartments, you must be aware of the existing condo moving rules to avoid incurring unnecessary charges. The government established these rules to alleviate the congestion that occurs when moving from one condo to another.
Because the MOVE MOVE MOVER has extensive experience moving tenants in and out of Singapore condominiums, here are some of the condo moving rules imposed by the respective building owners that all tenants must be aware of when planning their move in Singapore.
ON WEEKENDS, NO MOVING INTO CONDO'S IS ALLOWED.
There are blackout days in Singapore when all tenants are prohibited from moving out or into a condo. Saturday and Sunday are blackout days. You are only permitted to move during business hours, which are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Weekend moves are discouraged, though some condominiums allow Saturday moves until 1pm (please check individual buildings for these allowances).
SEND IN A MOVING FORM
Before leaving your condo, you must notify the building management by filling out and submitting a form. This form is provided by management and should be completed three days prior to the moving date. It is accompanied by a security fee, which covers any damage to the property caused by the move. This fee excludes any charges imposed by your Singapore movers.
VEHICLES IN USE
To avoid unnecessary damage to property, vans or trucks used to transport your belongings must adhere to a predetermined route while driving within the premises. Vehicles taller than 2.8 meters are not permitted to enter the condominium’s basement. These vehicles must be parked in the designated areas in the basement or on the premises.
THE MOVERS ARE REQUIRED TO BE CERTIFIED AND IDENTIFIED.
For security reasons, your mover must obtain a pass. As the moving process is underway, they are required to wear identification passes on the premises. They are also required to report to the security office whenever they enter and exit the premises.
THE TRANSFER TIME MUST BE SPECIFIED IN ADVANCE.
The tenant must notify the building management of the date and time they intend to move their belongings into or out of the condo. This enables management to plan the use of service elevators and service staircases by the movers in order to avoid inconveniences or delays.
PACKING CRATES AND BAGS ARE CORRECTLY DISPOSED OF
Make certain that your movers do not leave any trash lying around the premises. If the tenant fails to ensure that no rubbish is left behind, the movers’ activities within the premises will be immediately suspended, as will the cost of disposing of the rubbish.
THE TENANT IS LIABLE FOR ANY MISCONDUCT OR DAMAGE.
If the property is damaged while moving a tenant’s belongings, the cost is borne by the tenant. The tenant is also responsible for the moving crew’s behavior while they are on the premises.
